Weeding and Watering

We weeded, watered, thinned and then the heavens rained down upon us. Nothing like some thunderstorms to fix nitrogen in the soil, we needed some nutrients on the site for sure. Wormcasting will be delivered and I will work on adding some to each plant in the garden this week.

Planning a workday/meeting this Saturday from 9am-12pm to work out shed planning, site maintenance and a fun event on the grounds. Post your ideas to the blog for a fun event!

Anyone have a scarecrow, as the squirrels and birds are enjoying strawberries!

Wednesday Planting and Watering

Hey guys the work you have done so far looks great!

I see lots of markers where seeds were planted and we just need to water them thoroughly so they germinate (turn from seed to plant). Sunday, Sunday's mom and I planted some zinnias, parsley, naturstium, and the rest of the sunflower seedlings. We had a relaxing time while Charles watered the garden around us.

On Wednesday, we noticed some of the plants are chlorotic (turning yellow, may need fertilizer, especially N). This is imperative to successful plant growth and I believe we need to address this asap in order to have a successful growing season! Ana and I will try to get a hold of some fertilizer very soon!

We need to continue watering deeply as I dropped by the garden today and noticed it was very dry. When it starts to get hotter we may need to be out there twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. We can talk about how we want to deal with this on Sunday.

Tomatoes are looking great!

Look forward to gardening with you on Sunday!
